Finally the work on pedometer update is done!

The new updating is launching tomorrow at 13.00 UTC+0!

We've now finished up testing the new pedometer update, and the new build (200) is approved on both TestFlight and Google Play.

The server will go into maintenance at Saturday 27th, 13.00 UTC+0 , and the maintenance will take approximately one hour.

Remember to claim your steps before the maintenance by opening the game. Any steps that weren't claimed will be lost when the update is live. Check changelogs below for full changelog breakdown.

Pedometer Fixing Update

Added

  • Added a refactored way of handling permissions in game
  • Made the permission checking of the game more robust
  • Added search keywords for each skill
  • Added all gear that relates to skills search keywords
  • Added development logger to help clarify debugging to the alpha testers
  • Search in bank now also looks for keywords, tooltypes and geartypes
  • Replaced the foreground pedometer process with more battery friendly one
  • Added rewards system
  • Finished up achievements UI
  • Added more requirement types
  • Added small notification bubbles to the main UI for showing if there are unlocked achievements
  • Added remote config

Fixed

  • Fix to the iOS pedometer permission
  • Fixed an issue in the graphs that caused a problem when there are more graph events than the graph max is
  • Fixed an issue with UTC times when it comes to time travel
  • Disabled dev logger from production so it does not inflate the save file size
  • Fixed the crash where without activity settings, starting the foreground service would result in a crash
  • Fixed all of the gear that had wrong tooltype that made them appear incorrectly in search
  • The permission screen should no longer render before permissions are checked
  • Reworked the way iOS graph data is being calculated, should now align much better with reality and not double count steps while in foreground for graphs
  • Fixed a minor Android step duplication issue where you could get small amount of steps twice because the step count did not save
  • Made it more unlikely that steps would be gone if the game is restored or loaded with a failure on both iOS and Android
  • Simplified the way bar charts work to make them work a lot more stable
  • Fixed the bug where graph events might get added multiple times if the game did not cloud save or backgrounding while loading
  • Made the dev logger timestamps 24h clock timestamps so they are more European-readable
  • More fixes to the game launching sequence
  • iOS doesn't try to clear step notifications
  • Creating player save does no longer need the game state to be "started" while loading the game
  • Notification should now disappear on Android when app is foregrounded
  • Fixed and improved the Weekly Steps view
  • Fixed notification bubble overlap between xp tracker widget
  • Removed achievement difficulty chip
  • Requirements now cap the number at the maximum
  • Minimap doesnt bug anymore when walking
  • Fixed some pedometer issues

Can we go ahead and:

  • set new app back to default on battery - not unrestricted?
  • ok to uninstall Google fit?

Wondering if there's any difference in doing that before or after new update.

Yes and yes! Just remember to have the Background activity permission on if your phone has that option for apps. The game will not work in the background if that's off.
