Maintenance lifted and new update is online!
The lengthy maintenance has now been lifted, and the game is now available once again! On iOS, the new update is version number +412 and on Android, it's +411. Remember to update - the old version of the game is not functional at all, even at showing proper error messages as it can't effectively communicate with our reworked server.
Known issues:
Issues when logging in? Reinstall the game. On Android, you can also just go to the App Settings and do -> Clear Cache & Clear Storage
Also, restarting the phone seems to fix the login issue if reinstalling didn't work.
Also make sure that you're using the updated version of the game! We see from logs that people are still trying to log in with the old version of the game, not the updated one (+411 on Android and +412 on iOS)
- There is an issue with the new update that first time loading into the game, your graphs will show a crazy amount of steps. We can however now update step graphs from server side, so we're fixing this for players and you should see those steps gone after a while.
- There might be an error where every step you take you will see a big red error message pop up. Restarting the game fixes these errors from happening.
- There are also some other issues we've seen with the steps graph - we will address this in following hotfixes. December steps especially seem to not show up properly.
- Pictures on received friend requests are not showing up properly.
- When opening the game, you might keep seeing that you can't connect to the server even though you have internet connection. Reinstalling the game fixes this.
- Activity reward messages might get stuck sometimes, tapping on them dismisses those.
- 30k step achievement is not functional right now.
If you encounter some issues, please let us know. We'll be spending the following week releasing hotfixes where necessary, while also starting to work on DevTools 2.0.
Thank you for the patience, this maintenance was a lengthy one. We migrated our entire servers while having a huge checklist of things to go through to migrate everything to work with the reworked game engine.
I'm also interested to hear feedback on performance and loading times, as those have received a major improvement. First load to the game should take longer, but every load after that should take on average 3 seconds.

Things seem to be working fine post update apart from some log in issues.

Ah nice, works with updates game. Though I lost many days of steps as I hadn't open game for past days and wouldn't work til updating app which seem not having my previous days of steps once updating
I also lost about 8k steps during the update. Its weird because on the character tabs stats it shows the steps but they’re just not counted on foraging I was doing while the game was down.
My girlfriend also lost 2 days of steps, which is weird, because we actually were logged on both Tuesday and Wednesday, but it now shows zero steps for both days.
I cannot give items. I have a gray screen and can do nothing except exit the game.
@JaneL: we had the same problem. My girlfriend found out, that if you put the items into the bank first, you can then turn them into the jobs just fine.
Great update, thank you! Wow, the app is super fast now. Loads instantly, and all the transitions seen to be smooth and fast now. My compliments!
I had sent in a bug report about it missing a few days of data initially, I was missing chests from my treasury and I was missing some kelp stacks from my inventory. But those all came back now, so it’s all good.
I’ll check out some more interactions when I’m back in a town :)
Lost about 3 days of intense walking due to lack of notification when migrating. It was suggested by many people yet it was not done, I would have gladly updated if I knew I was missing steps. I'll be taking a break as this was incredibly upsetting.
Any updates on the job bug? Can't finish jobs in GDTE :')
